Acrylic faux bois (fake wood) on MDF, medium-density fiberboard. Triskelion taken from The Book of Kells, transferred with contact paper. Effect created using multiple layers of acrylic paint and gloss gel medium. I created this piece for my grandmother, Elizabeth, who was from Ayr, Scotland.
